In the Spotlight with Iyana Jenna!

We would like to wish a warm welcome to the fabulous Iyana Jenna!  Iyana, give us the inside scoop on your new release, What Lies Beneath!

Thank you so much for giving a chance to visit After Dark Writers! Here I have a deleted scene right after Jarrett’s first performance in What Lies Beneath. Enjoy!

Jarrett closed his eyes and let the warm water run down his face and body. He'd stood in the shower for the longest time. He'd scrubbed and rubbed the chocolates off his skin but still there was some left. But chocolates were the least of his problems right now, and the warm water didn't help at all. He needed cold shower to get Dylan out of his mind. Here, behind his closed lids, Jarrett still saw Dylan's hesitant gaze before he touched Jarrett's cock. Jarrett shuddered at the memory. It'd just felt so good to be under Dylan's expert fingers, and he'd played Jarrett like the finest harp player and Jarrett's overly sensitive slit and cock were the strings he plucked to produce the tunes that formed Jarrett's moans and gasps.
Jarrett shivered, his breath hitched, and he let out choked sounds, once, twice, as his strokes became more frantic. His back arched, taut, and small cries escaped his lips as he finally came. Pearly-colored strings of his release hit the pale green porcelain of the shower wall before they were washed down by the gush of water. Jarrett breathed heavily and he pressed his left hand against the wall to support his body. But it wasn't strong enough for his wobbly legs. He dropped to his knees, turned around slowly, and slumped on the wall, legs stretched straight. With a soft murmur, "Dylan," Jarrett let himself overcome by drowsiness.
***

Blurb:

On Dylan's birthday, his friends give him a chocolatey surprise -- a night at a private gay club, starring Jarrett, the most beautiful stripper he's ever seen. The pair have an obvious connection, but Dylan's hiding a big secret.

Jarrett has a rule: Never fall for a client. But Dylan is cute, and sweet, and Jarrett is only human, okay? But when the past comes back to haunt Dylan, will Dylan push him away, or will he help Dylan conquer his fears once and for all?

Excerpt:
"You," Jarrett hisses.

Dylan looks at him, feeling helpless at Jarrett's enraged voice mixed with fear. Dylan bends down to pick up a shirt and jeans from the floor and hands them over. Jarrett snatches them from Dylan's hand.

"Yes, it's me. Dylan."

"Dylan Scott." Jarrett gets dressed, but his eyes never leave Dylan. "What are you? I didn't see you come in."

Dylan pauses. "I-I saw you from the window."

"From the window -- you were watching me?"

"Not really. I..." He's not lying. He was totally going to leave until he heard Jarrett's cry for help.

Jarrett doesn't seem to be listening, eyes turning big with suspicion.

"The window was locked... There's no broken glass..." Suddenly, Jarrett dashes toward the door, but Dylan is faster, of course.

He grabs Jarrett gently. "Relax," he murmurs in Jarrett's ear.

"Please don't hurt me," Jarrett pleads, his body trembling.

Dylan releases him at once. "I won't. All I want is to protect you."

Jarrett gazes up at him. "Why? I'm a complete stranger."

"I had you in my hand," Dylan said, and Jarrett's face turns crimson and turns away.

"It doesn't mean anything."

"Doesn't it?" Dylan asks, and he frowns when Jarrett gathers a watch and set of keys from the nightstand.

"Where are you going?"

"Home," Jarrett says simply.

"Huh? I thought this was your apartment."

"Like I want to let a scumbag like him into my place?" Jarrett sneers, nodding at Jeff who's still lying on the floor unconscious. "What are you going to do to him? You going to kill him?"

"I don't go around killing people, if that's what you're asking."

"Then what? What do you do? How did you find me?" Jarrett squints up at him. "Are you one of those superheroes? But you're not wearing a cape or a mask." Jarrett giggles. "Listen to me. I must sound nuts."

Dylan smiles a little. "No, you don't. I'll tell you all about me later. Right now, let me make sure you get home safely."

Jarrett steps back. "Uh no, thank you. I'll drive. I don't want to fly or anything."

About the Author:

Iyana lives in Jakarta, a city famous for its traffic jams, a lot of cars and motorcycles, and people selling stuff on the roads. You can spend two hours on the road going to a place you can reach in half an hour in a normal situation. Thanks to the traffic jams, though, Iyana can come up with a lot of stories, mostly shorties, as she prefers to spend the time during her trips writing into her cell phone rather than sleeping.

Another thing Iyana loves is kitties. Right now she has five of them. Their names are Larva, Nyil, Cil, Mermood, and Horus. When she doesn’t write, she plays with them, or they would play with her when she writes.

Nightmares: a series by Sage Marlowe!

The Nightmares-Series by Sage Marlowe

What if the old, folkloristic tales are true and nightmares exist? What if a nightmare isn’t just the vivid and frightening scenario our tormented subconscious presents to us as we sleep, but a paranormal being that is as substantial and real as you and I—an incubus, a demon that feeds on human emotions? Could a man fall in love with such a demon, and could the demon love him in return?

Colin Meighan, co-owner of the small but successful gay porn production company Centre Studs is also the company’s biggest star. He sports a pretty exterior, but there’s more to him than meets the eye. Too young to know the full extent of what he is, he has to learn that the world he lives in isn’t what it seems. There are powers at work that exceed everything he’s ever believed in and the lines between nightmare and reality become blurred as he discovers the truth about himself and his gruesome heritage.

This, in short, is what the Nightmares – Series is about, but there’s more to it. A lot more. A cast of intriguing, likeable and mysterious characters takes you on a ride with more twists and turns than the average rollercoaster. Hot sex is more than just fun for these guys—it’s vital. And yet, while one man alone can never be enough for demon Colin, romance and love are far from dead.

Try the Nightmares but be warned: they’re addictive and will possibly—probably—leave you sweating, tossing and turning in your bed…or wherever you choose to read them.

Here’s the beginning of A Nightmare Come True, Book One in the Nightmares Series, to whet your appetite (Copyright Sage Marlowe, 2013):

When the day I was supposed to meet Colin Meighan finally arrived, I still couldn’t believe my luck. I was dying to meet the man in person, so, unsurprisingly, I arrived early at the address Uncle Tony had given me. It was a somewhat run-down former warehouse and far from the sexy and glamorous location I’d been expecting to find.
My uncle Tony, who always knew someone who knew someone, had set me up for a job. "It’s cash in hand," he’d told me, shielding me from my mother’s suspicious glances. "A fairly good rate, too, as long as you’re willing to keep your eyes shut for some of the time."
It had been our monthly family gathering and I, true to form, had arrived with the news of having been sacked once again. Just what did it say about me that my mother hadn’t even seemed surprised and my father, who once upon a time would have considered this a perfect reason to warm my hide, had just shrugged and continued to pick at his food?
"What exactly does this job involve?" I’d asked under my breath, watching my parents’ wordless argument.
"A bit of everything," Tony had replied. "It’s a low-budget film production and they just need a capable pair of hands to help move around equipment, put up lights and screens and stuff like that. I’ve done it a few times myself, but I’m busy that day."
Young and naïve as I was, the words 'film production' had blocked out the adjective 'low-budget' by far, but it hadn’t been until I’d cornered Tony on the doorstep, when he’d been about to leave, that I had managed to extract further information on the film production in question.
"Gay porn," he’d said, smirking. "But don’t worry, the guys keep their hands to themselves—or each other, anyway. You won’t need to watch the action either. Just turn around when you’re done with your part of the job."
I hadn’t pointed out the double-entendre in his last sentence. He certainly hadn’t suggested I turn around and show my butt to some of the hottest guys in Britain. Pursuing the topic of gay porn or even gay sex any further wouldn’t have been wise at the best of times, but on the doorstep of my father’s house, jobless and on the wrong page of my father’s books, it could have rendered me homeless within minutes.
Of course, my sexual orientation had always been a well kept secret at our home. My parents knew but the rest of the family remained in the dark, so dear Uncle Tony probably thought nothing of sending me to the set of a porn film. Little did he know that it was like asking an eight-year old to help guard a candy store. When he’d mentioned the name of the production company, Centre Studs, I’d barely been able to stop myself punching the air in victory. Centre Studs was a small company and a lightweight compared to the big overseas porn industry, but they made high quality films using the nation’s finest gay porn stars. And for me, when it came to gay porn stars, there was no one better or hotter than Colin Meighan.
The inside of the building kept the promise its outside had given. Bare stone walls, naked, chipped and paint-stained concrete floors and cheap, too bright overhead lights. I was a guy and it didn’t take much to get me in the mood, but somehow I’d imagined the location for a porn film shoot to have just a tad more of a sexy atmosphere.
I was one of the first to arrive. There was another guy with a ponytail who was busy glaring at his smartphone, two cameramen and one man who was busy taping a large microphone to a rod.
"Hi there," I greeted no one in particular and no one in particular responded. The only replies I got from the four men were muffled grunts and a mumbled "Hello."
I went to the man with the ponytail. "Hi, I’m Mike. Mike Fawkes."
Tapping away on his phone, he barely looked up. "Peter Evans. Call me Pete. I’m the producer-slash-director-slash-casting agent. Any questions, talk to me."
"Yeah, all right." I let my gaze travel across the run-down film set. A super king-size bed was tucked into a corner, which was probably for the best as it didn’t look inviting. Its stripped mattress wore a multitude of stains in different shades—fading scars that had been earned in countless battles. An old-fashioned but large sofa sat in the middle of the room, its faded green corduroy covering threadbare in places. No, they didn’t put much effort into an appealing location. "So, this is where the action’s gonna happen, huh?" I observed, mainly just to say something.
Pete glanced at me. The corners of his eyes were wrinkled in a half-smile. "Yeah. You’re early."
"Well, yes. I figured it might be better if I came early."
A soft chuckle right behind me made my back tingle. "Sweetheart, in this business it’s never good to come early."
Pete looked past me and grinned. "You took the words right out of my mouth. Hi, Colin. You’re a bit early yourself."
"Yeah, I know," Colin drawled. He moved past me and leaned in to Pete who tilted his head. For a moment I thought he’d kiss him full on the mouth, then Colin turned the motion into a quick peck on the cheek, but it was too late.
A scene from the film I’d watched last night in anticipation of the meeting interfered with reality and a dirty fantasy began to unwind in my mind. I imagined Colin greeting me with a kiss, only that ours would be open mouths and tongue-touching and all. Blood shot into my dick, fast enough to make me dizzy. Fool that I was, I’d come prepared to meet the star of my dreams, but nothing had prepared me for Colin’s enormous sex appeal. On camera he was sexy as sin, off camera he was Viagra on legs. He wore tight-fitting, ripped blue jeans and a pale grey, long-sleeved T-shirt. The fabric of the latter was so soft that it not only hugged the curves of his pectoral muscles—I could also easily make out the shape of the nipple piercing underneath.

Author Interview with Rosanna Leo!

Hello, and welcome to another great post with Sinfully Sweet Romances/After Dark.  Today, we have the pleasure of welcoming Rosanna Leo to our spotlight!

We asked Rosanna a few questions, and here is what she had to say.

Rosanna Leo is a married mom of two boys who has been obsessed with romance literature ever since she read Jane Eyre in grade six. Since then, she has been a sucker for a roguish smile, a knowing eye and an alpha male! She grew up in Toronto, Canada and still lives nearby. She tried getting to Narnia through her bedroom closet when she was a kid, but that didn't work, so she started writing romance. You can find all her books at www.lsbooks.com

Q) You write mostly paranormal erotic romance. Would you ever consider another genre?
A) I do love the paranormal world. Ever since I first picked up a book, I read about fantastic creatures and ghosts and gruesome histories. My early tastes had to impact my writing. Right now, with my Gemini Island Shifters series, I am quite comfortably ensconced in the shape shifter world. However, I do have one contemporary romance to my credit as well, and am writing another. As much as I adore my paranormal heroes, it’s important to take a break and refresh.
Q) Tell us about your current release.
A) Predator’s Refuge is book 3 in my Gemini Island Shifters series. Although it is a series, each book can stand alone as well. The first two books dealt with ornery bear shifter heroes, the Snow brothers. However, book 3 tells the tale of Anton Gaspar, a Hungarian tiger prince shifter. His unlikely heroine is Marci Lennox, a lynx woman who works at a Northern Ontario resort catering to shape shifters. Marci wants nothing more than to succeed at her job when the boss leaves her in charge. But when mysterious new employee Anton arrives, plaguing her sex-starved lynx, everything seems to fall to pieces for Marci. And Anton doesn’t fare much better. For reasons they don’t divulge right away, this couple try to stay away from each other, but tragedy at the resort throws them together. They deny the desires of their inner animals, and it makes life hellish for them.
Q) Did you do a lot of research on animals for this book?
A) Indeed! For all my shifter books, I research the animals on which I base my characters. I don’t think I can do a shifter character justice if I don’t know about the animal prowling inside them. I read a lot about the behaviors of tigers and lynx and found them fascinating. It was fun throwing these two natural predators together and watching the sparks fly!
Q) Do you plan to continue the Gemini Island Shifters series?
A) Yes, book 4, Predator’s Claim, will launch March 24 and is a wolf shifter book. I also have plans for at least two more books in the series, following characters who have only made cameo appearances thus far. Beyond that, we’ll see what the readers want!
Q) Where can we find out more about your books?
A) All the details are on my blog at www.rosannaleo.blogspot.com, but all the books are available at Liquid Silver Books, Amazon, ARE, KOBO, B&N and other e-outlets.
I’d like to say thank you to the authors at Sinfully Sweet Romance/After Dark for hosting me!

What a wonderful look at the amazing woman behind the talent.

Blurb/Excerpt- Predator’s Refuge, Gemini Island Shifters 3 by Rosanna Leo

Blurb:

Lynx shifter Marci Lennox has worked at the shifter-friendly Ursa Fishing Lodge and Resort all her adult life. It’s more a home to her than a job. When her boss goes on vacation, putting her in charge, Marci is thrilled. Finally a chance to prove she has the mettle to run a resort.
Her confidence is shaken when new employee Anton Gaspar appears. One look at the mysterious tiger shifter spells trouble for Marci and for her sex-crazed lynx. Anton is judgmental, condescending, and a little misogynistic. Unfortunately, Marci’s lynx thinks his tiger is more delicious than an oversized bag of Maltesers.
It becomes difficult for Marci to remain neutral near Anton, especially when she learns of his troubling past and unusual family circumstances. However, when dangerous incidents occur on the resort, the lynx woman and tiger man join forces to combat the threat to the lodge and its guests.
Harder still is the quest to combat their explosive feelings for one another. As they explore their mutual passion, they realize the danger at the resort is more insidious than they ever envisioned. Their dreams, their love, and their very lives are at stake.

Excerpt:

Immediately, the fragrance hit him, activating his Jacobson’s organ. He swallowed, tasting it on his tongue and at the back of his throat, and wondered if he was mistaken.

No, how could he mistake the unique scent of a female cat in heat? It was too delicious a scent to forget. Sweetness coated his taste buds, winding a delirious path down his throat. As his head swam, he blinked and tried to clear his thoughts of the sexual imagery racing through it.

The scent did not belong to another tiger shifter, but some other type of predatory cat. One whose perfume he hadn’t sampled before. One who must be particular to this region. Cougar? No. Mountain lion? Surely not.

Whatever she was, her scent teased him with its delicious flavor.

Don’t, he warned himself. Wasn’t it enough that he spent the last few years of his existence trying to escape the sick wiles of the grasping women at court? And God only knew how hard he’d worked to maintain a state of abstinence at Pannonhalma, devoting his life to meditation. He’d come here to work, not lose himself in a sweet piece of…

Stop it. This was no time to think of pussy, even though he’d never been more desperate for a taste of creaming woman.

His tiger howled inside him, hungry for that which it had been denied for almost two years.
Still the perfume, more intoxicating than any he’d known, wafted toward him. He wanted to close his eyes and drink it in. The unyielding power of the aroma could make him forget his vows. Granted, he wasn’t really a monk, but he had followed the monastic lifestyle from day one at Pannonhalma. The purity in the monk’s life had been the very thing he’d required to get his life back on track.

So why did he want to find the source of the scent and fuck her until she begged alternately for mercy and for more? Her need seemed strong. Whoever this lady cat was, she must be in dire agony for her scent to be so powerful.

None of his business.

Mentally caging the growling tiger inside him, he shook his head and approached the front desk. He dropped his luggage and cleared his throat at the woman working there. Her head had been down as she read some reports, but she looked up now.

Welcome to the Ursa…” Her jaw fell open and her sentence hung in the air, unfinished and clearly forgotten.

Well, well. A beautiful little lynx.
